Palaeontologia Electronica

Palaeontologia Electronica, ISSN 1094-8074, is the world's first internationally-sponsored, peer-reviewed electronic paleontological journal. PE publishes papers from any branch of paleontology and from related biological or geological disciplines. PE meets the provisions of Article 8.6 of the International Commission of Zoological Nomenclature. Manuscripts are evaluated through peer-reviewed by professional paleontologists and biologists (using advice from an international panel of associate editors) and published as html and pdf documents, accessible free of charge to all with Internet connections via the World Wide Web.

PE is wholly owned by Coquina Press (Norman MacLeod, Tim Patterson, Mark Purnell, Jennifer Pattison Rumford, Whitey Hagadorn, William Riedel, and P. David Polly). Coquina Press is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to facilitate the dissemination of paleontological information through the publication of an open-access electronic journal.

Financial support for Palaeontologia Electronica is provided by the Paleontological Society, the Palaeontological Association, and the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology. Management and editorial policy is set by the managing editors.

Palaeontologia Electronica is on the short list of Open-Access Journals covered in GeoRef.
