Date: April 4th 2013

Hi,
the 9th International Symposium on the Cretaceous System is coming very soon (next September)
see http://www.cretaceous2013.org/en/

I am one of the convenors for one of the many sessions there (i.e., Micropalaeontology, benthic foraminifers and algae)
and as such it is one of my responsabilities to CALL FOR ABSTRACTS for this session and obviously to advertise the many topics that will be addressed in the other sessions: Cretaceous Stratigraphy and Stage Boundaries, Micropalaeontology (nannofossils, radiolaria, ostracoda and many others), Macropaleontology (rudists, ammonites, bivalves, gatrapoda and many others), Palynology and paleobotany, Vertebrate paleontology, Palaeoecology, Faunal/floral extinctions/crisis, Sedimentology and sedimentary processes, Carbonate Platforms, Sequence Stratigraphy and Cyclostratigraphy, Event stratigraphy and K/T boundary, Cretaceous Sclerochronology/Biomineralizaton/Geomicrobiology, Cretaceous Paleoclimates, Cretaceous Paleoceanography and Oceanic Anoxic Events (OAE), Petroleum Occurrences in Cretaceous Basins of Turkey and adjacent areas, Cretaceous Continental records and terrestrial processes, Cretaceous sedimentary basins, paleogeography and tectonic evolution, Geochemistry, isotopes a
nd provenance, Causes and consequences of short-term Cretaceous sea-level changes - climate-environmental deteriorations during greenhouse phases, ...

The "deadline" for abstract submittal is May 1st (note that the early registration ends on June 14th).
Therefore it is more than time to think about writing your abstract for a talk or a poster if you are planning to attend this meeting.

I look forward to meet you there.
Best wishes,
Bruno Granier
