Date: July 31st 2018

Dear Colleagues,
please find attached the template for your abstract (.doc and . rtf), if you intend to give a talk or to present a poster (or both of them).
We expect abstracts on eustatical, biological, physiographical, geochemical, tectonic, ... surveys around the boundary (i.e., over an interval of time spanning the Kimmeridgian to the Hauterivian, with a special focus on the Tithonian-Valanginian strata) in the deep- to shallow-water environments, as well as on emerged lands, of the Tethys, Panthalassa, Austral, Boreal, and continental areas.

It is suggested that in your text you should preferably refer to stage boundaries rather than to the system boundary itself (because there are still several options regarding the JK boundary itself and that could /will/ be discussed in a dedicated session) OR, for disambiguation, you can make it very clear that, in your opinion, the JK = a specific stage boundary (Tithonian/Berriasian*, Volgian/Ryazanian, Berriasian/Valanginian, or any other option!?...).
* the preferred option since 1973-1975 (although it never reached an absolute majority!)

At this stage, you are NOT requested to make a "full" registration (that will include the payment at but you should register as an "author" at
There you will have to fill a dedicated form that includes a "short" version of your abstract and then you should be able to upload the .doc or .docx "full" version of your abstract.
You can start with this "early" registration now and 'fill the form + upload the files' later.
If you find it uneasy to use, do not hesitate and request my support.

The latest version of the circular can still be downloaded at:

We look forward to meet next December in Genève!
Best wishes,
Bruno Granier
